The most important thing I took from today is that inquiry is not always the best option. I like the idea of guiding the students to find the answer on their own.

Karen's science lesson was such a great blend of the work we need to do. By focusing attention on a snippet of our standards, she created activities that engage and teach thinking skills. Sometimes when we teachers sit to plan we are overcome because it seems daunting to have technology, inquiry, hands on, etc, etc. Karen's lesson reminds us to stick with what is important--the kids, the engagement, and the big ideas. Thanks for a day that energizes and gives us so many options and directions and practical tools.

I loved the flicker program. It was very informative to see what other teachers have done in their classrooms since October. I feel more comfortable using technology in the classroom. I also feel more comfortable using the smart boards and how to incorporate smart board lessons. I was able to create lessons for my water cycle unit and my Denver unit. As well as the Cities around the world. Great class as usual!

I loved using the proscope and the temperature probe. What a great way to see things in a different way. Also, I am glad I now know how to make a slideshow. This will be especially handy for our ELLs. Thanks!

I really liked the animal lesson. I think it is important for teachers to experience a well-organized inquiry based lesson from the perspective of the students. I find it valuable that we returned to the inquiry matrix to analyze not only our own lesson, but also the lesson Karen presented.

Creating with technology is important. I have to keep up with it myself in order to use it with my class. These workshops are great. The ideas for using inquiry with technology were helpful! It's all about keeping our students engaged and excited about learning. Thanks!

Since I was unable to attend day 1 I was not sure if I should participate in day 2. I am glad that I did. I really enjoyed Karen's lesson today. Also, I enjoyed hand held Temp device. That would be awesome to take into the field as a secondary option to taking your laptop into the field.

I really enjoyed the Animal Adaptation Inquiry lesson. I am planning to use it next year to provide content knowledge and to get the kids thinking and inquiring. A reminder of the 5 E's was useful as a way to provide the content and background knowledge that kids need to move into exploration. I created a slideshow for my next Science unit - Electricity and Magnetism ad I plan to use the show as Karen did with the Animal lesson.

I really loved learning how to use the temperature probe and Proscope. The Proscope is the coolest thing I have seen in a while! I am going to use both items tomorrow for a lab I am teaching called Tools of Science. The students will have so much fun using new technology in the classroom! Thank you! I also loved the slideshow instructions for FlickrStorm... I will use that as well :)

I enjoyed the science lesson and actually taking part in it because it gave me great ideas to use in my own classroom. Creating a flicker slide show will also be useful for my CO history units, and I loved the proscope! I think this would be so useful to use during a plant study in Science. Thanks for all the super ideas!

I really liked the science lesson that Karen did on the Smartboard...very interactive and a great demonstration of how to integrate the Smartboard into a science activity. I also liked learning about the temperature probe and the Proscope. We are planning to use the temperature probes tomorrow as 5th grade students learn about various tools of science. I appreciate all of the excellent science and social studies resources that were shared during this workshop. I plan to add some of these to our school's Web site as well as our school's Intranet site.

I have so much that I found beneficial. I will definitely be using my FLICKR slideshow and creating more! The science lesson was a great model for us in inquiry and I look forward to finding a unit to implement some part of it. The time to work helped my teammate and I to figure out our BLOG. I appreciate all of you for the time you put into creating such a great day!!!

It was nice to share lessons across grade levels with other schools. It helped to not only collaborate and share ideas, but to validate where are students are developmentally, and their needs and abilities. I also am very grateful for the opportunity to work outside the classroom, to generate new ideas and problem solve. Thanks:)

Having done the probe activity once before, my partner helped me realize a good application for my current science unit, the Circulatory System. We thought we were fooling around, but all of a sudden it made perfect sense. Having held the probe in our hands, we put the probe in behind our ears, like a pencil...the difference in temperature led to a good opportunity to do "If I know this, then I can hypothesize that..." Why did the temperature jump so much from our hands to our heads? A great connection to facts about blood and blood vessels. Discovery learning! I'll be doing this within the next two days with my 5th grade class.

I found the 3 E's article very useful for inquiry based learning. I will use it with my IB Inquiry based projects. I liked seeing the use of the Smart Board. Now I just need one. Lastly, I can see how the flickrstorm. i-photo slide show can be very useful with sooo many types of lessons. I love flexible tech tools.

My brain is on overload, AGAIN!!!!! Loved everything! I liked the inquiry based activity and how I can add that to my classroom. Had a blast with Flicker and making movies! The Last Word Game was fun and educational. Loved the animal activity how it was SMARTboard and how you made it hands on! Going to go back and take the concept and make it for our Australian Unit. Thank
