One thing I learned from the activities today was voicethreading. I am going to do a unit with a 3rd grade class in my school. I was planning on cutting the unit short to teach the students podcasting to publish their research. Now that I know you can voicethread with out a time limit, I will be using it as my means of publishing.

I was amazed at what voicethread can do. I had no idea it even existed. I am looking forward to spending some more time exploring it and using it with my 5th graders.

I really enjoyed learning about voicethread as well. I think that is a really neat learning tool. I would love to use it to record stories and illustrations to work on a book about science concepts. I can take a photo of the illustrations the kids draw and add them from iphoto.

I appreciate the Inquiry Activities, especially the election voting activities. As a science teacher, primarily, it was nice to see inquiry taken into another subject area.

I will be using Voice Threading immediately for reading responses by a gender-specific novel group of boys. The objective is for these boys to develop a sense of communicating in complete thoughts with a carry-over to written responses. As they hear themselves talk out their thinking, hopefully they will hear their own internal monologue when writing responses. This will take practice and patience, but I believe increasing oral fluency will translate to written fluency in literature responses and in writing overall.

Wonderful tools with a rich framework, inquiry. Practical methods and the example of our presenters will help me carry back new perspectives. Choice and personal investment are critical to all kids particularly our boys. Will use voice thread for pen pals with 3rd graders in Ossipee, New Hampshire. Will be using it as well for conclusions kids will draw from reading. Will be using smartboard for a boys writing club to examine the tenents of good writing in a more tactile interactive way. Thanks for a great day!

I loved experiencing a well-designed inquiry based lesson. The technology enhanced my learning rather than distracting from it. I am taking with me a plan to do an inquiry based lesson on explorers in which students use voice-thread to report their findings. Thanks!

I have about 3 new projects to implement in the next week and a half before Fall break. My teammates will either be thrilled or ready to beat me up after I tell them all that I have planned for us to do. No....they love it!!!! I am excited to integrate voice thread with writing. I also look forward to using the inquiry lesson to guide my instruction and lesson planning in regards to SS and science. THANKS!!!

Thank you a MILLION GAZILLION for all these fresh, new, and clever tools!!!! I can't wait to get back into the classroom and share them with my kids and teammates!!!! I can't wait to try out Election, United Streaming, Voice Threading, and the Icons out on the SMARTboard. I would like to try adding Voice Threading to my classroom blog. Thank you soooo much!

I really enjoyed learning about the voice thread. It is a great technology tool to let each child's voice be heard. I plan on using the lesson on the election with a smart board (hopefully) and then I want the students to do a mock election.

Thanks for the wonderful Election inquiry lesson. I love Voicethreads as a collaborative sharing tool for students. So many times they are asked to write, but don't get much experience speaking. I also learned how to use Inspiration to link videos and voicethreads, etc. to create a complete lesson for centers (Thanks Cindy!)

Thank you for all of the science and social studies Website resources. I am adding these to our Intranet site for all of our teachers and students to use. Voice Thread has many applications for different grade levels. I like that you can create slides in PowerPoint and put these into Voice Thread. I look forward to trying this with some the students at my school.

This was a fantastic day! My head is swimming with ideas, but the instruction was concrete enough that I am not lost out at sea. I really like the instructional possibilities with voicethread. I am planning on using voicethread with some science instruction tomorrow, as well as with my 5th grade reading intervention group. I am also excited about designing some more lessons around the inquiry model. Most of all, I really value the structure of today's session. Embedding time for us to work is such a valuable resource! Thank you!
